Online applications are invited for Direct Recruitment on All India Competitive Examination basis for the following posts:- It may be noted that posting to Headquarters and any specific Regional Offices/CoEs/ACCPD Rai Bareilly will not be a matter of right, of any candidate, but will depend only on administrative requirement, if any. The candidature of the candidate brining outside influence for seeking specific posting will be summarily cancelled. Only online applications will be accepted. Applications received by post/by hand/by mail etc. will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
The Board has developed and expanded significantly from year 1929 (which was then
named as the 'Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana) to reach to its
present status. In year 1952, the Board was given its present name 'Central Board of
Secondary Education'. It was in the year 1962 finally that the Board was reconstituted. The
main objectives of the Board were to serve the educational institutions more effectively, to be
responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the
Central Government and had frequently transferable jobs.
The Board has grown at a rapid pace over the years and its present jurisdiction has stretches
beyond the national geographical boundaries. From 309 schools in 1962, the Board as on
28.06.2024 has 29340 schools in India and 257 schools in 25 foreign countries. There are
1247 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 5280 Government/Aided Schools, 22408 Independent Schools,
648 Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalayas and 14 Central Tibetan Schools.
In order to execute its functions effectively, Regional Offices have been set up by the Board
in different parts of the country to be more responsive to the affiliated schools. the Board has
18 Regional Offices & COE’s located at Ajmer, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar,
Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi (East), Delhi (West), Dubai (UAE), Guwahati, Noida,
Panchkula, Patna, Prayagraj, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada locations.
The CBSE headquarter constantly monitors the activities of the Regional Offices. Although,
sufficient powers have been vested with the Regional Offices, issues involving policy matters
are, however, referred to the Head office. Matters pertaining to day-to-day administration,
liaison with schools, pre and post examination arrangements are all dealt with by the
respective regional offices.

(2) Total No. of Posts: There are total 142+70 vacancies.
(3) Educational Qualification:
(Junior Assistant Pay Level-2) 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized
(Superintendent Pay Level-6) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
(4) Age Limit:
Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
Maximum Age Limit: 27/30 Years
Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
(5) Salary : Pay Level-06 and Pay Level – 02 as per advertisement

(8) Selection Process:
There will be two tier examination followed by Skill Test (qualifying in nature). Based on the marks scored in objective (MCQ) type (OMR Based) Tier-1 exam, the candidates in the ratio of 1:10 shall be allowed to appear in Tier-2 written (descriptive) exam. On the basis of performance in Tier-2 written (descriptive) test, the candidates will be called for Skill Test (qualifying nature) in the ratio of 1:5. The Board reserves the right to fill or not to fill or partially fill any of the above vacancies due to administrative reasons and also reserves the right to cancel/ restrict / modify/ alter the recruitment process, if required.
The Board reserves the right to short list the candidates based on merit, experience, written and/or skill test, as the case may be.
The Service conditions will be applicable as per the prevalent rules of CBSE Service Rules, 1985 & its subsequent amendments and including Govt. of India rules from time to time. Selected candidates, on appointment, are liable to be posted or subsequently transferred anywhere in India in any of the offices of the Board, as these post(s) carried all India transfer liability. The candidature of the candidate bringing outside influence for seeking posting will be summarily cancelled.
